Anyone else sitting idle for a lot of the day?

There are weeks like this when I'm tweaking code files briefly and then spending between 5-10 minutes running them. That involves 2 or 3 minutes of analysis and then an update, and then the click of a button and patience until it finishes.

Has anyone else in a similar position found a way to stop their brains from turning to mush? I think back to the days in the office when I didn't notice it because I'd be arguing with colleagues about the best biscuit or television advert from the 90s, or talking to them about holidays/family.

Just wondering if anyone has managed to fill brief moments like this with something which helps them grow/develop. I feel like it's not enough time for me to get into my books, or learn a language. Normally for those kind of things I need a solid 20 minutes at least. Or maybe that's something in itself in my head I need to work on..
