There's been similar threads on this in the past but if you work in the UK and your company agrees to you moving to Ireland to work, could you just crack on working (getting paid into your UK account/paying uk tax).

No. You have to pay taxes in the country where you live.

Unless you become an independent contractor instead of an employee.

    But how would they know?

    But how would they know?

What happens when you need any services here that require a ppsn? E.g. you have to NCT your car and provide either an Irish driving licence or PSC.

At some point, it would catch up with you and the penalties are heavy.

    I'm Irish, I've got a ppsn.

It was an example of where a ppsn is required, but my point is that you will have no tax or S/W record and at some point that will catch up with you. Will you eventually buy a property here, for example?

You can take your chances, but legally if you live here, you need to pay tax.

Will you have a registered home address in the UK also?

    But how would they know?

Because they are not stupid. They know this kind of thing goes on and the first time you pop your head above the parapet they will have you. And there will also be consequences for your employer, don't expect them to be happy keeping you on in such consequences.

Living in Ireland with no visible income is enough to set the red flags flying...
