Killing Birds with Kindness?

Further to my contribution on the 'Broken Bird Box' thread I decided to have a look at the various bird boxes currently being offered for sale on Adverts. I settled on these four examples as being fairly typical of the low quality stuff available. Some are probably from well intentioned people with others possibly manufactured by those looking to cash in on the reawakened lockdown interest in nature.

This is not a subject that I have only started thinking about recently as I have been concerned about the standard of the 'twee' bird products being offered by many garden centres, discount retailers etc. for years but things seem to have really accelerated with the pandemic.

I wonder how many boxes come with instructions of where to site (direction facing), cleaning, staying away from if occupied etc.

Anybody got any thoughts on this? :)
