    Hi,

I have received land from a parent approx one acre... The land is from where my mother grew up and has been idle for years... We never lived anywhere near this place and am wondering will this hinder any attempts of going for planning under my name??... As far as I’m aware it had planning one time for a house that was never acted upon..

Depends on site, location, design, local area plan etc etc etc
Engage local planning agent to consult and see if you fit the criteria.

I think I’ll be ok with the items listed but I’ve heard stories of people not being from an area and subsequently having planning applications rejected..

Hence why I said to engage an agent to FI through the local needs criteria specific to you and see if you can pass.
