ratchet screwdriver set - wont hold the bits in

Its a cheap set but its handy for round the house. However when you put a bit in to the ratchet screwdriver it remains loose and won't hold the bit in and can easily fall out.

I can see a u spring in the holder and I've moved it about but its wont grip the bit anymore.

    1. Is there any fix for this.
    2. Is there anyway of jamming one bit in permanently as its vip for my heating topup and doesn't take lumps out of the screw slot.

    thanks guys

Maybe superglue a magnetic bit holder into the driver?

Glue won't hold with the torque on it, But you could get a bit welded in permanently.
Other option is to possibly change the chuck but that may not be cost effective.

Honestly, just buy a set of screwdrivers

There is probably a small ball bearing that is missing from under the spring clip, if you look into where the bit sits is there a hole?
If there is then that is the problem.
