Amazon Prime subtitles

    Just watched a film on prime, ppl started speaking in Swedish so put subs on; then everything said in english was subtitled ok, but everything said in any other language all the subs showed was [speaking Swedish] [speaking Russian] [speaking German] etc.


    Is there anyway to get full subs on prime or are they the most useless aid ever?

    In general I've found Amazon's implementation of subtitles to be the absolute worst, to the point where I generally avoid watching any foreign language show on it. But it even affects shows where you'd have just the odd smattering of other languages too. Like in Looming Tower, the first episode had baked in subtitles and then further subtitles *over* the baked in ones. Luckily the subsequent episodes had only one set of subtitles, but Amazon are deplorable for them.
    Another issue is they often have only closed-caption English subtitles for shows, rather than just regular subtitles. Sometimes they have no subtitles at all.......
