Smell of Radiator

    Hey,
    have gas fired central heating.
we had a rad in a bedroom that was too hot so we turned the valve down from 5 (highest) to 3 (middle). When we turned it to 3, the rad didnt give any heat at all. We turned it back up to 5 again and now there seems to be a smell of rotten eggs coming from it. We can't pinpoint it exactly to the rad but the room stinks and this is the only reason we can think of.
None of the others rooms or rads smell.
    Any ideas?
    thanks

Try opening the bleed screw to see if air coming out has the same smell.

Check the grills to make sure nothing stuck in them.
Check carefully where pipes come out of the ground.

Have a rethink on this. Rotten egg /sulphur smell can be an electrical appliance melting. I would check sockets, light fittings and switches for melting cables ASAP. Unplug all appliances in the room. If all is OK then start thinking about the rad again.

would all rads not smell if it was related to that as it would be in the whole system?
its only when we turn on one radiator

from what i understand it would have to be coming from a weep at a fitting or when you bleed the rads

just said i would throw it out there
