The battery on my Huawei p smart 2019 is dying. The phone is maybe 2 years old? Should I invest in a new battery (and installation) or buy a new phone? I paid €200 for the phone and really like it. If I where to buy a new phone, I will be looking at the same price point.

I'd go new phone route. Something like a Redmi Note 9 for €100 is better than yours, thread here on it, Vodafone selling them unlocked too, read through this..
