So the car wouldn't start today, obviously not enough driving and the cold weather. Checked the battery and it has a Volvo sticker on it so I'm assuming it's original.
Car is 2006 Volvo S40 petrol.
I have a battery in the shed from an old smax 2.0 tdci I had. Battery is basically brand new.
Checked Halfords website and it says the battery will fit my Volvo.
Bit shocked as I've always seen as diesels requiring bigger batteries and petrols smaller ones.
    This is the battery here

Obviously has more amps and CCA then the one in the Volvo now.
Im pretty sure it's fine to put in but wanted to make sure, there'd be no issue on wearing the alternator out.

Once the poles are the right way around you'll be fine.

    Sweet thanks.
Fitted today. Tight fit and had to jiggle cables around to fit but starts first tip again.
Changed the pollen filter aswell. Now that is an absolute ass of a job!!

Absolutely painful on a RHD S40. Did it years ago and my back still isn't right :D
