NUI Matriculation 3rd language exemption

Hi My son has Aspergers. He's only doing English and Irish for the Leaving Cert (2022) Has anyone gone through the process of 3rd language exemption for NUI? If so, how did it go? Any tips? Thanks!

Anyone interested in Irish or English H1 leaving cert notes from a "grind school" let me know! I do not need them anymore
