It's live on Eurosport and the GCN app :)

Saturday should be the decider on Mont Ventoux but they only go up to Chalet Reynard, which is likely further than I'd get at the minute :P

Snow forecast for Friday, Saturday looks ok but temperatures between 0 and -7 up there

The last 50km of the Aussie Road mens champs was some of the best racing I have seen in a long time.
    Sorry for the thread derailement.

IS this on the Eurosport player only? Seems their TV listings are full with Aussie open.

Yeah it doesn't seem to be on the Eurosport TV channels for some reason. No highlights or anything. Eurosport1 is dedicated to the tennis. But they could definitely fit in highlights on Eurosport2... so it seems like they are showing it only on the Player on purpose.

Last year this was on the GCN Racing youtube channel just before they launched the racepass and app. There were a few other races and CX racing covered that way too.

EDIT: I remember Carlton Kirby making cameos on there and thinking it was better than Eurosport as they showed the commentary team in their booth chatting before the race as opposed to Eurosports zero effort in production.

Dan said on this week's GCN show that it would be himself & Matt Stephens commentating on this race.

I'm looking forward to when Sean Kelly is back on and his pronunciation of AG2R-Citroën :D

Well I wasn't expecting that stage today and the finish, I thought race over but no . Well deserved by DQS.

    Enjoyed Matt and Dan today.

After seeing Julian Ala grabbing something to eat in the last few k......

Matt: Dan did you ever reach for something nice in the last few km.
    Dan: Yeah the Broomwagon.

I'm probably one of the few who don't mind the UCI ban on supertuck and forearms on bars position but you can't do that and have a finish like yesterday. About 1km out from the line there was a big raised kerb/lane divider in the middle of the road, and pretty sure it was on a bend or after a roundabout, with no one marking it at all. Think I seen a crash on it but they never cut back to it.

Other than that great racing, and a great finish. Looks like riders aren't hanging around and easing into racing, just getting straight into it.

I thought that at the time, it looked awful dangerous.

It was one of the Grupama riders if it was at the roundabout, he managed to get a leg out and stay upright. There was an equally dodgy finish last week too where a few lads skidded out on a roundabout and spectators had to jump out of the way, I think it was Edvald Boasson Hagen that went down and took 2 or 3 with him and that was only 500m from the line.

There was an interview with Philip Gilbert on cycling news as he was at the talks over the rule changes as a rider rep and he mentioned 800 emails to riders had been sent with a link to the new rules and changes, only 16 riders had accessed the information.

Aru didn't feature at all today, couldn't see him even at the bottom of the climb.

He was dropped at about 5km to go so didn't seem to do too badly for an early season race. Would like to see him get some form back this year.

Yeah there he is now about 2 minutes done. I'd like to see him get some form back too.

Matt Stevens taking about Eddie today and that he likes rugby too, "If he hadn't gone down the pro-cycling route, he'd probably perused a career in rugby"
    :rolleyes::D:D

At 5'7" and less than 9 stone, don't think I'd like to see on a pitch against some of the behemoths that play rugby!!
Think maybe Matt he likes it merely as a spectator? Could be wrong though..

Peter Stringer, similar height and build, heavier due to the sport's requirements, but it is possible to be that size in rugby.

Really? Always thought he was bigger, just looked smaller by comparison beside the likes of O'Connell , O'Callahan &co... hmmm. There's hope for me yet!:p

Stringer would be very much an outlier these days.
Take Conor Murray, One of the current Irish Scrum halves, He's 188cms and 93kgs (6'2" and 14 1/2 stone in old money)

Given that Eddie's at the super-elite pinnacle of a sport whose dietary and weight control regimen would be getting on for cause for concern over eating disorders and body dysmorphia among the general population, I'd suspect his 'normal' walking around weight is probably in the 10-11 stone range.
Feed him a load of steaks and put him in the squat rack for a year or two, and he'd be pretty close to the size and stature of Antoine Dupont (Height: 1.73 m (5 ft 8 in), Weight: 85 kg (13 st 5 lb; 187 lb), the current French scrumhalf, an outstanding player who more than holds his own among the large scary monsters of modern professional rugby.
He'll be in action against Ireland this afternoon at 3pm, if anyone wants to have a look.

Alaphilippe takes some seconds in the intermediate sprint today. Puts him in second overall ahead of Bernal now.
