BMW - wobbly rear end over bumps

I’m just wondering if someone has experienced this issue?

Car (2012 BMW 320d) has developed a jerking motion from the rear when driving over any small bumps, along with a banging noise from the passenger side over anything bigger. Will be taking it to the garage during the week but just seeing if anyone has had a similar problem and what their cause of issue was!

    Thanks!

8 year old car, could be the suspension or a bad shock.
Could also be underinflated tyres (particularly if they are Uniroyal that are know to feel wobbly unless they have good pressure).

Could be a number of things but whatever about the noise, a jerking motion suggests it needs attention immediately.

Have you checked the wheel nuts?

Don't wait until a wheel falls off.

Sounds like back coil springs, my renault is on it's 3 rd set. But with out knowing exactly what it is, do as others have said check the wheel nuts and get it looked at. I wouldn't be driving it anywhere except slowly to the gurage
