Hot water to hot

    Hi folks,

We have a 2 zone system with hot water cylinder. Normally water is perfect if just heating the water zone but days like today and yesterday we run the radiator circuit more and the water in the taps gets uncomfortably hot. I checked the boiler and it’s temp was set to 65 degrees. I turned this down to 60. Is that ok? It’s a new ideal boiler only 2 years old. I assume there’s a stat on the cylinder for the hot water zone set to 60.

    Thanks,
    Mick

Chatted plumber who fitted boiler and he said to check cylinder stat. It was at 75. Turned it down to 60 and left boiler at 65

As your cylinder stat will be nearer the bottom of the cylinder the water at the outlet will be a lot hotter than stat setting. Check average usage so you only heat what you need at any one time and set the stat to accommodate that volume at the correct temperature.
