Pruning Clematis group 1 now

    I never got around to pruning my Group 1 clematis and now it's already started to grow again, would it be ok to cut it back a little now?
    would frost affect it if I was to cut it now?

    It's a 3 year old Montana and it really exploded in growth last year, it's wrapping around my Armandii and Jasmine and can only imagine how big its going to get this year if left unchecked

    Let it flower and prune it after. I wouldn't go cutting it now.
