Spark plugs change or other issue

Did a once over on my partners car and when I inspected the spark plugs the threads were black with carbon, not excessive or thick but it covered the entire threaded surface with a thin layer, also the ground electrode has corroded a bit on each plug. Would changing the plugs be a good option or can they be left alone? Is there another possible issue causing the black deposits on the threads? The car has 61k miles and I presume they are the original NGK iridium plugs by the part number being OEM.
