Is there a setting to make me go to the last viewed post on forums rather than the first page. It seems to work on some threads and not others. Thanks

There's a little arrow next to the name of the last poster when the threads are viewed at the forum level. That goes to the last viewed post.

How come some threads bring me to the last viewed post by me and others don't when I click the thread title?

One example is YLYL.
