    Hi folks, new poster here. Do people generally try and bargain a price with a car dealer? Or is it generally just private sales? It's a second hand older car

    Yes absolutely.
    You should look at where its priced relative to other similar cars elsewhere.
    Some dealers will have 1000 stuck on to a 10k car to allow them price a trade in well. Others wont do that so you need to satisfy yourself where it is at price wise but certainly they will be expecting you to bargain.

    Absolutely. The price on the screen has negotiation-room built in. Dealer will expect you to haggle....

    Bought a 08 skoda superb there last july dealer looking for 1500 counted out 1k in front of him he took it always have the money in front of him esp at the moment

    Lots of dealers will have a discount margin built in but there’s an increasing number of dealers advertising their price is the “cash” price regardless
