Tagline: three decades, two friends, one hell of a story.

I've watched the first two episodes of this over the last two evenings, and it's enjoyable though a little puzzling. It's not what I usually watch, but I like both Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke, and was interested to see what they can do together. So far, they're both impressive in different ways.

It's the story of two women who have been friends since age 14 or so, and some of their experiences. The timeline jumps between 2003, 1983 - with the leads playing older and younger versions of themselves - and around 1974, as teenagers played by younger actresses. I read some reviews and did run in to a couple of spoliers, though the big one (so far) is oddly revealed at the end of episode two as a flash-forward.

So not the most demanding watch, but one that does subvert most of the typical cliches associated with the genre.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

I binged on this over the weekend. It was ridiculously corny, overly sentimental but perfect if you want to watch something without engaging your brain. I really liked Sarah Chalke, loved her in Scrubs.
What is the story with the ending  I thought I'd missed an episode:confused:

I'm in the middle of this right now. I love Katherine Heigl's character but Sarah Chalke's character seems like a head melt. Immature, unable to express what she wants. But it's been a while since I watched US property porn this rewarding, and the cliffhangers are excellent.
