The handbreak on my car is quite stiff, I often need two hands to pull it up all the way - not ideal when I need to use it at stops.
When I try to lift it with one hand I often times hurt my wrist and need to use all my strength to pull it up. I dont know if im just abnormally weak or theres something wrong with it?. Can anyone advise me on what to do? im booked in for my test and need my hand breaking working properly.

A handbrake should be tight and hold the car after 4 or 5 "clicks" in my experience. Could possibly just need to be adjusted at the rear which will be a cheap fix. No parts needed

Could be seized cables or mechanism inside the brake drum.
Most likely the cables are the issue.
Disconnect the cables at the drum and see how freely they run.
