    Hi All,

I am looking to buy a cheap and cheerful laptop. Absolute max I can afford is €500 and even that’s a push. I’d like to spend as little as possible but still get something that won’t die in a year if possible!!

It’s going to be used for college work which will be mainly Microsoft word and publisher.

Won’t be gaming or anything fun so no need for anything special for this.

Doesn’t need to be super portable or lite weight.

Only OS I’ve ever used is Windows.

Not too fussed on extended warranty.

Would prefer to get it sooner rather than later but supply seems to be an issue. I’m assuming there’s lots of extra demand with working from home! So If I’ve to wait to get something that’s not completely junk I’m happy to do so.

Any advice really appreciated as I’ve not got a clue.

    TIA

Was looking for the same and actually used the shell of an old one I had.

Installed solid state, ram and few bits and only cost 200 to get it flying

You'd get a decent base one second hand for next to nothing. YouTube sorted me and I was a newbie
