Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

is it possible to get a touchscreen retro fitted onto an old 2nd hand car?
Sorry, Im not a tech guy at all so Im probably not using the right lingo, what I mean is, new cars these days all feature a touch screen with maps, spotify etc and 2nd hand cars up until around 2014 dont have this feature, so if you bought a 2nd hand car from around say 2010 is it possible - or desirable - to have an after market screen fitted that would look OK and would have al the functionality of a current touchscreen?

Generally yes, theyd only be a glorified tablet really. No connected functionality to the actual car features apart from multimedia, what car are you looking at?

    It depends on the car.
The more of them on the market the greater the chance the some Chinese manufacturer has made an OEM drop in replacement.

Lots of options for VW group cars and some older BMW models for example.

    thanks everybody.
I would be hoping for a touch screen with all the functionality like the heating/aircon as well as the bluetooth/music etc. So from what ye are saying its possible but only with a limited number of car models, ie VOlkwagen, BMW, is that right?
I dont have any particular model in mind, just thinking of getting a new 2nd hard car, petrol model only, budget around 10K....

Your not going to retrofit an after market touch screen cheaply for things like heater or aircon if it were never originally made that way for the car. On most cars in your price range, those systems will probably be separate components and not connected to the stereo system. Your looking at something that will replace the likes of the basic stereo functions of radio and cd player and will also come with the likes of bluetooth, DAB radio, usb port and possibly apple car play/android auto.
