Fluence quick juddering on taking off

Hi guys,

I noticed today the car judders for a 1-2 seconds on take off 1st gear after letting off the clutch, this has never happened before, I used the car this week to commmute for 8 days straight 110km each day, I wonder if that had wear out effect.

It's the judder you feel when the car is about to stall but only 1-2 seconds.

Sounds like the flywheel or clutch is on its way out.

Does it still judder if you release the clutch at higher revs?

First time It happen yesterday when I was waiting on a drive thru queue, as soon as I let the clutch reach biting point as you normally do release it, judders for few seconds then fine.

I thought its me but i tried it second time it happened again then a few times after that. I'll try tomorrow at higher revs, but this never happened before only yesterday.

I've a Megane and this happened me a couple of times. I only noticed it when I was taking off at a little bit of speed (ie; from stopped, but joining a busier road so getting up to speed fast) and it only really happens if i haven't really revved sufficiently.

It does feel like the tyres are skidding, but not sure that's it.

Hmmm, i've a Megane too and it's happened to me a few times

Just noticed this morning going to work the first gear feels like its slipping like its not biting when accelerating for short seconds.

Ye cause my indie mechanic notice last time I had oil change that clutch was a bit harder than usual cause he has a 2008 bmw and it was soft as a pillow.

Does the bite point of the clutch pedal feel quite high when you are taking off?

If you feel like there is a lot of travel on the pedal before it bites it could be the clutch.

An old test I learned from someone, was to keep the handbrake on (if it holds well, ideally on an incline) and gently release the clutch. If the car revs up a little instead of stalling when the revs go low, it could also be a sign of the clutch.

I would personally be concerned if a mechanic was judging the condition of a clutch, based on how two different cars feel.
