E-class steering wheel grind

my 2010 e class has always had this slight grinding/rubbing feeling in the steering when the car is up to tempature and moving. i replaced the discs and pads and it helped a bit, but sometimes i can hear a rubbing noise outside the car, has anyone else experienced this or found a solution?

Have you checked the power steering fluid reservoir? Last time I had those symptoms in a car was when the pipe from the reservoir had become loose and the fluid level went low. Could hear it outside the car too.

What wheels and tyres are on it? Are they factory standard wheels? Does it have air suspension?
