Fair point, it hadn't occurred to me.
Having said that I'd bet a pound to a penny that any practices, be they appropriate or otherwise are likely to be widespread across the insulation manufacturing sector. If there is any dubious practices around testing & or certifying I'd be surprised if Kingspan had exclusivity on it.

Thanks for your point I need to have a think about it.

Is this cert stuff around values of insulation? any reason why?
Im interested in EWI and have looked at different types of Insulation, now my intent was to go for a well known/established supplier.
One thing I'd want to review review is what the insulation value is and the blowing agent and making comparisons between different manufacturers.
But what Im not sure is available is are the insulation values an average or do they give specific R (or U values) for specific Ambient temperatures?

Like many things, there seems to be no single solution, product or fix.

Polyiso which I always understood to be touted as having one of the best insulating properties, but it's performance reduces with reducing temperature.
Without accurate figures compared to ambient temperatures, it's difficult to see what mitigating measures could be taken, and any effects of that.

THe reference to cert above is regarding fire certification values in light of the Grenfell tower fire in the UK. It seems that some of the cladding has questions hanging over it in regard toit certified fire rating vs. actual performance. Something along those lines.
