Incredible behaviour from a member of our national parliament.

His local GAA club in Kilmallock supporting him too.

    Shameless people.

So what is your point? Character references should not be taken into account? We should not treat people the same before the law and only allow selected character references? We should not allow character references for certain types of crime?

Judge O’Callaghan said that Mr Hannigan was “minding his own business” and was totally and completely unprepared when blindsided by the shoulder charge from Mr O’Reilly.

    Scumbag.

Is violent thug not an overreaction? He had no convictions previous or since. He gathered compensation. I’ve done one or two things over the years, whilst out of it, that mortify me. We’re all only human. To me anyway, it’s not as outrageous as you’re making it out to be.

    I hate unprovoked attacks.

I myself have been on the receiving end twice, its cowardly and scummy.

. I’ve done one or two things over the years, whilst out of it, that mortify me. .

If you've done anything close to knocking someone unconscious from behind, unprovoked, then that just makes you a filthy scumbag too, not lessen or justify this mans actions.

Of course they shouldn't be allowed.

Imagine how the victim of this criminal feels.

A member of our parliament standing up for his assailant.

    Disgusting.

Not that I condone that behaviour, but you do know there is an alleged mass murderer sitting in the Dail?

15 grand for that, seems low when you think of the ridiculous sums given out by some judges recently
