I'm looking to take out Probate on my late father's will. I'm currently weighing up the pros and cons of doing it myself, or getting a solicitor.

I was wondering, do I have a choice of what county I can do this in? Or does it have to be where he lived, where he died, where I live etc? Just thinking that the waiting times in some counties might be quicker than others?
