Media interview while on Invalidity Pension

I have a health condition that has rendered me unable to work and so have been in receipt of Invalidity Pension for a number of years.
I was recently invited to take part in a media interview to talk about this condition and raise awareness. I was told I would be paid €100 for it. It's only going to be one hour of my time.
Can I accept this payment or should I decline the opportunity because I don't want to risk losing my IP payment for the sake of €100

Is chatting in an interview a type of work? I doubt it.

Is the 100 wages? I doubt it.

    I can't see any problem.

    Medical criteria
Invalidity Pension is a payment for insured people who are permanently incapable of work because of an illness or incapacity.

    To qualify you must:

Have been incapable of work for at least 12 months and be likely to be incapable of work for at least another 12 months (you may have been getting Illness Benefit or Disability Allowance during that time)
    Or

Be permanently incapable of work (in certain cases of very serious illness or disability, you can transfer directly from another social welfare payment or from your job to Invalidity Pension).
A Deciding Officer of the DSP will examine your claim and determine your entitlement based on the qualifying conditions outlined above.

You can be permanently incapable of work AND be able to chat about that, I don't see any conflict there.

Even with disability you are allowed to carry on some work. You are allowed to earn 120/week and this will not effect your disability. Below are the term relating to work and disability. It is very good for people to work a little even if they have a disability

From your link it would seem that you are not allowed to work Invalidity pension.

"Social insurance payments: Invalidity Pension and Illness Benefit are social insurance (PRSI-based) payments. You cannot work while you are getting these payments (with the exception of voluntary unpaid work)."

Maybe do it voluntarily and ask them to give the fee to charity OP.

Thanks guys. It's just a one off interview with a one off payment so I guess it definitely wouldn't be considered work but to be on the safe side I think I'll just pay the money I receive to the charity for my condition. I don't want it coming back on me because I can't afford to lose my pension.
