Hello eveyone so I have recently installed 2 more ram sticks to populate the other two slots in my ram now there seems to be some incompatibility as i cant seem to boot with the max MHZ the rams have it keeps on going back to 2133Mhz as default and the most stable i got OCing the ram is 2666mhz now i realised even though my ram are all 8gb and 3000mhz they are of different versions except the last two i installed which was a kit will this cause a incompatibility

    ryzen 2400g
    asus b450m-a prime
    corsair vengeance lpx 3000mhz

id say its more likely the speed of the ram causing an issue, are you sure your MB/cpu supports 3000mhz, what about the bios version, its happened to me b4 were i had all different dimm's speed wise causing instability obv MB was set to auto but when i manually set a lower speed i had no issues

It's tougher to reach higher speeds with 4 Dimms than 2 and if you look at the list you will see only a few are listed at 2800 and they have nothing listed any quicker. If you can get 2666MHz that's probably all you can hope for with 4*8. Even with 2*16GB they don't have anything listed at higher than 3000MHz with the 1st gen Ryzen cpu (and 2nd gen is essentially the same, 3rd gen does much better but there are no 3rd gen Ryzen apus yet).

You should probably try updating the firmware (bios) before giving up completely on getting past 2666MHz but I wouldn't be overly confident it will help that (but you may get other performance improvements which help compensate a little).

max memory speed is at 2933mhz but it was ok with 3000mhz when i only had two i probaly need to check the bios

Faster RAM should just downclock to match the old stuff.

Try turning off XMP in bios then installing it.

I wonder if the kit are older because the default of my first ram were 2666mhz but now it's 2133mhz
