Sometimes if it is overfilled, then it can't detect the fill level. Some cars use ultrasonic fill.measurement that gets confused when at 100%.

It often says on dash fill, minimum amount x Max amount y.

It might need dealer to reset known level to 100%, or a back street with VAG COM
It might go away when a little bit is used up and it can then see the level correctly.

    Hi,

had a similar issue with our Seat Alhambra (2013 model, 2.0TDI 140ps).
The warning with the spanner and the 'no restart in xxx km message' don't necessarily mean you're running low in AdBlue instead something has triggered an error in the emissions management system.

You need to get the engine management scanned for errors.
In our case the issue was related to the NOx sensor(efficiency below threshold) and replacing the sensor seems to have fixed it.

Common enough problem on the A4 dealer will sort it for you a lot won't even charge you if it can be fixed via software. As someone said earlier don't overfill the tank it will tell you the max amount required.

Seen loads give trouble, not recognising a fill. Some need a software update, there is a TPI for fsulty sender units too though so pray it's just the update.

Before going to all that though, when was the last time you filled adblue? Does it seem plausable that the car only needed 4x litres or do you think you can get more in?

Iv only had the car for 2 months so don’t know when it was done last it’s under warranty so they would have to cover the cost

Yeah if it's under warranty it should be covered.
