Professional CV writers

    Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with hiring a pro CV writer to create their CV.

    Ive put together an updated CV but can't decide whether its good or bad, i really could do with getting someone in the know to create one for me at a reasonable rate.
    Can anyone recommend please?

    I've done enough of these and conducted enough interviews to be able to tell you that any professional writer who says that they will write one for you, without seeing the job description, is talking through their hat.

    In order to be able to do this, if I were to do this, I'd need the job description and would need to speak to the candidate.

    If it's just a rewrite of your CV to sound more professional, anyone with a business/hr degree could do that.

    And there is the problem.... it will be mass produced with a few tweaks thrown in. And anyone that recruits people on a regular basis will recognise it as such. Unless you are willing to kick in a lot of cash for someone that will really work with you on it, that is what you end up with.

    The entire process is about getting to know you and first impressions count, so what does it say about you if you are willing to outsource the most important document you will write.....

    I have know people who toss out such CVs on the basis that all they tell us about the person other than that they are able to find someone else to do the work for them.....

    My advice, if you are going to get someone to do this for you, make sure it's not a factory job and expect to pay well for it.
