I had a test date last Thursday and I failed to turn up. I had 22 euro deducted from my card , fair enough. I rang up the following morning to rebook and was given a day and time for this afternoon. I turned up today an hour ahead of time. A staff member approached me and said there is going to be no further tests today as our systems have gone down. I rang NCT HQ to see what's the story, put on hold as they knew nothing and was offered another test in 3 weeks which I took and no money taken today. So 25 miles back home and time wasted. Have you had a similar experience and got the test when it did happen for free ?

Not experienced it before, perhaps push them for a free test to compensate for your time and expense wasted in going there today.

If they can charge you for not turning up, they should be compensating you when they do it.

    Test Within an Hour
The NCT charter also says that customers are entitled to a free test if they have to wait more than 60 minutes after their appointment time before the test begins. (As long as you arrive on time) You will probably need to ask for a refund if this happens – the staff may not just offer it to you.
Plus: If NCTS cancel your test booking and do not give you at least 5 days notice, a new test appointment will be provided free of charge.
