Do I have to work my notice period when retail reopens

    I’m thinking of switching jobs over the next few months. I currently work in retail and am looking for something to do with my degree.

    If I happen to get a new job I heard I may have to work my notice period when retail opens back up?
    Meaning in March or whenever we’re opening again I’ll have to work my 2/3 weeks?

    Anyone know if this is true or the company can make me do this?

    Doubt it, but little if any of the relevant legistlation would take the impact of global pandemics into account.

    Given the large losses that most retailers have taked the last year, then might be happy to shed staff.
