Looking at a 2018 Renault Grand Scenic with 1.5 dCi automatic transmission

Is there anything that I should be looking out for or any issues with these cars/engines/auto gearbox?

Going to have to do a purchase without test drive kind of had me a bit nervous as we got screwed with a Citroen a few years ago

It’s going to be a click and collect or garage will do a delivery etc

Any information about these cars appreciated

The Dual Clutch transmission in my second megane never felt right compared to the first. Same model car ran for the same number of years. First car felt fine, second one didn't. Both were perfectly reliable but second one felt like it was juddering/slipping occasionally.
You'll need to test drive and drive the car on a steep incline/decline to feel the issue I had.

I'm driving a 2013 Megane Estate 1.5 dci with the automatic gearbox and 190k on the clock.
Have to say it's the most reliable car I've ever had - and I've had a few.
Never had any issues with either the engine or gearbox.
Starts first time, every time even though I'm still on the original battery that came with it.
I don't think it uses oil at all as the level never goes down between services.
The aircon acts up now and again in really hot weather in that it stops cooling and the air stops blowing through the vents. Switch off the aircon for a while and it resets itself.
Other than that, the only thing I've replaced is the timing belt and a couple of head light bulbs.

Buying used cars with dual clutch autoboxes is tricky as they don’t like abuse, heat, long stop/start traffic by their design. Entry level engines are generally mated with dry clutch versions and those are the tricky ones.

Less of a risk in Ireland due to less traffic and climate but still a risk.
