Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am a 20 year old who got a decent Leaving Cert and completed one year in college training to be a teacher but decided it wasn’t for me. I enjoyed everything about college and even done pretty well in my exams but, I knew in the back of my mind at the end of first year I had no passion for teaching. As a result I decided to take a year out to work and decide what I really want to do and what course is the best for me. The only thing is now, the courses that I have settled on really jumped in points last year where as they were all in my range back in 2019. Therefore the whole idea of predicted grades scares me because it could mean a jump in points again. I am eligible for Hear which could bridge a 30 point gap but I am not sure if it will be enough especially if points rise again..

Apply regardless and for a etb course in the same field just in case the points go up cause then you will get it next year

Check what your situation is as regards fees, since you already did a year.

I know it seems like forever now, but if you wait til 23 you become a mature student and do not have to be in competition with the LC entries. You could keep working and build up some savings too.
