Can I transfer my ETB manual driving lessons over to automatic lessons?

    Hi there,

    So i have been going through my essential driving lessons recently and just completed an 8th one today.

    I am a nervous driver and i also have no car to practice in/have anyone to practice alongside so im not progressing very much.

    Today my driving instructor mentioned I could perhaps learn to drive an automatic (im really interested as the gears in the car are my biggest issue).

    I was wondering can i just swap over to Automatic lessons and finish the rest of the 12 etb lessons in an automatic and apply for a test?
    Or do i need to start at beginning again.

    You can just swap to the automatic and complete the rest of your EDT lessons. What counts in the end is which car you pass your test in.
    If you pass in the automatic and decide, in the future, you want to drive manual you’ll have to get a learner permit and do further lessons to prepare for your manual test.
