    Hi folks,

I'm still looking for a reliable (and cheap) car and I was wondering if the Honda Civic 2007-08 Hybrid is ok. I tried to find any info. related to the battery's life and the hybrid system in those cars but I couldn't get any of it.
Do you think it'll be a good choice or should I have to check something else?

    Thank you

Just beware with the older Hybrids. A couple of years ago I was looking at a 2009 Civic Hybrid as a run around, it was a 2009 car car in excellent condition being sold privately. In fairness to the seller he told me the Hybrid battery would need to be either replaced or rejuvinated in the near future. when I started to make enquiries about getting this done, it turns out its very expensive maybe up to €2000. There is a guy in Clare who specialises in these Hybrid batteries and he was very helpful with his advice, so in the end I went for a regular non hybrid car.

They’re quite slow too, a Prius does everything (apart from looking inconspicuous) way better.

If going Civic, the 1.8 petrol is the one to get IMO. Very strong mechanicals.
