just checked revenue and its says underpayment of 2797-

i work in the public service and my husband has been getting the wage subsidy since the beginning (march 2020).

we are jointly assessed and im down as the nominated person. on revenues website it says the nominated person is responsible for filling tax and paying any tax due. does this mean the underpayment will be deducted from me?

can't seem to find a proper answer online. thank you

Have you checked you were allocated your correct tax credits during the year and the liability is accurate? Possibly the tax credits and bands were incorrect with the result you got too much income month to month last year causing this liability which will be collected by reducing available joint tax credits this year (and maybe 2022). If you are the only one working then you should have the majority of combined (your own and spouses) tax credits anyway but also stands to reason that your credits will be reduced by the liability owing as revenue usually collect it this way.
