Vat on used car parts from the UK

    Hi I've been looking for a secondhand stereo/headunit for my 2013 van. I've sourced one in the UK on ebay. Its listed at £169 plus £20 postage. On going through the listing I noted that there will also be a charge of £73 sterling vat. I'm like wtf. I didn't think there was any vat on secondhand stuff. Any feedback app. Cheers

    If the seller is registered for vat he has to charge vat.
    Beware as well you could get caught with customs as well on too of that

    I managed to source what I needed at home Brexit is a disaster for the motor trade. Even sourcing what you need in let's say France or Germany most if not all end up coming through the UK which ends up costing a lot more. So spare parts for Skoda Merc etc have increased in price big time!
