Septic Tank or Secondary Treatment

Is this a secondary treatment device? Or is it a septic tank with aerator? There is a Gar Tech Environmental badge on the front but they are closed.

Aerator is toast and tank is full. Hasn’t been used in a number of years. Will be jetting lines and emptying tank next week.

The plan is to connect into mains sewers but maybe a couple of months down the line.// Don’t want to invest in fixing this if there is temp fix.

    It’s not a septic tank.
A septic tank has no technology or moving parts at all.

If the aerator is toast, will it just work as a septic tank into a percolation area?

I know nothing to these things. It appears its a sewage treatment system with an aerator. The aerator doesn’t work so will it work but with out the treatment bit?

    Maybe
It would be best get a service call and see what the story is. Otherwise you could have a backup and a service call to deal with.

It’s been emptied on Tuesday and we are hopeful connecting to mains in the next couple of months. Trying to not spend any money on this.

It will fill quickly if it’s not working. Weeks not months. Likely a callout will be cheaper than emptying
