IT Contracting for UK/EU based companies remotely from Ireland

    Hi folks,

I've been offered a couple of IT contracting roles, one in the UK and one in Germany. The roles would be fully remote from Ireland meaning I would never need to travel overseas.

Just wondering if this would cause any issues from a tax perspective? Neither companies have a presence in Ireland if that makes any difference.

From what I gather, all work is taxed in the country the work is physically carried out (Ireland in this case), so my understanding is that there should be no issues with paying PAYE etc to the Irish revenue as normal. I spoke briefly to an accountant who agreed with this and thinks it will be no problem. Just interested to get other opinions or tips from anybody who has done something similar before.

    Thanks!

    Perhaps speak to Icon Accounting.

They specialise in contractors and should be able to advise and set you up.

Yep, that's my next port of call, just interested to see if anyone has done anything similar.

    What else are you expecting?

    Go there, ask the questions.
    Do the relevant tax crap.
    They will advise appropriately.

I'm sure others will as well.
