    Hi ,

I am looking at bringing in a UK vechile currently registered as an ambulance so that it can be converted into a campervan . If anybody has any advice it would be appreciated.
Since the 1st of January imports from the UK are liable for vat and custom charges as per Ros website.
The website however does not states what the custom charges rate is , I'm guessing 13.5% , but not sure, can anybody shed some light on that and also whether an ambulance is liable for the additional vat charge which is now being imposed?

I'd be interested to know about this too. I'm interested in bringing a campervan (campervan on log book) into Ireland from the UK, but not sure what the additional charges are now - or procedures.

Customs is %10, VAT is 21% now and will be 23% after February

It will be (cost of vehicle + cost of shipping)*10% Customs.

Then 21% on the top of that total. (yes, there is VAT on the Customs...)

    Then your VRT 'as normal'.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Bloody hell! Yes, I got a customs email today for one third of the cost of a pair of shoes that I ordered from Debenhams UK pre Xmas. Shopping will never be the same again....

If the ambulance is vat registered or advertised a price + vat then you can buy it vat free from
U.K. for export. You would be liable for duty at 10% and Irish vat.

Once you convert it to a camper and get engineers report etc then you can change the vehicle use and register as a camper but of course you will be liable to VRT at that stage too
