Submersible pump

Thinking about trying to set up an IBC tank to use to wash down livestock trailer, maybe fill a dip trough occasionally and a foot bath too. Could use to wash down yard as well. And was also thinking I could use it to give water to ewes in individual pens at lambing time. Anyone know would a submersible pump be suitable for this ? I’d want to be able to have a nozzle on end of pipe to stop and start the flow of water, how would this work with a submersible pump ?

Really whats used in this sort of application is a small shallow well pump, the pressure switch can be adjusted so when you shut off the nozzle at the end the pump will automatically go off..

I think the best pump would be a wash down pump like what’s used to wash a milking parlour.

They are small submersible pumps ;)

Just adjust the pressure switch so the pump comes on instantly the pressure drops from opening the nozzle. An IBC would be smallish supply

No they aren’t submersible. I’ve this one on a 1000lt tank and it washes a 20 unit parlour

Sorry, I meant shallow well style lumps.

I actually fitted them for years. 🙄

I'm going for something similar, volume and pressure from the mains here is brutal.
Was thinking of putting in 2 IBC tanks and running them off rainwater collection, i could hook it up to the mains as well for the 2 days a year we have no rain!

Was browsing pumps online before xmas without much of a clue of what i need, any recommendations for the pump and setup would be appreciated as it's not my area of expertise.

EPS group are agents for all kinds of pumps so their website would be worth a look.
