    Hi All,
My PCP on 181 VW Golf Highline 1.0L TSI is due to end this year.
I will have saved the money to pay off the balloon payment (11k) by the time the agreement comes to an end.
The car only has 25,000 km's and has caused me zero trouble.
I like the car, but don't love it. I sort of fancy something different, a bit bigger maybe. Maybe an A4 or 3 series.
Would I be mad to change to something else now? Should I keep the car and then consider my options on the used market for something else in a year or two?

Dealers are looking for up to 24k for 181 golf 1.0 tsi at the moment. Your car is worth well in excess of the 11k balloon payment, perks of a golf I suppose they hold value extremely well.
If you pay it off, you should have the guts of 20k if not more to put towards something if you want to change, and it sounds like you want to. Could even pay off and sell privately (maybe) and go in as a cash buyer.
If you like cars but not mad about what you have then its not a mad idea to change if you can afford it.
A4 and 3 series nice steps up.

Alternatively if you don't want to sell privately, you could always go back to the VW dealer you bought it from and ask them what they would give you for it without buying another car from them. Whatever they give you above the 11k is equity you can use towards another car. I'd bet it would still probably be better than trading it in against a A4 or 3 Series as the Audi and BMW dealers will probably give you less than a VW dealer for it.

Any new car novelty can wear off regardless of cost. You are in a great financial position but if you can afford a bigger car go get it! It's quite a bit more expensive plus the running and servicing costs.

New octavia does a much similar job but 15k less if it's just size your after compared to a4 but similar look. I.e saloon.

If you are spending a lot of time in a car every day it's money well spent. Usually.....
