Thinking of using DigiWeb for SIRO, anyone have any experiences with them? Are they better than Eir?

Intend on using their modem in bridge mode and using my landline too so need their modem and want my own wireless router.

I got them in before Christmas/end of November, very happy with them so far. My Nest camera barely ever disconnects so service is stable. I would say a good bit more stable than Virgin I replaced.

Good modem/router combo they use (Fritzbox) but I have a TP Link Mesh setup so only use it in bridge mode.

Cannot comment how they compare to Eir, but I do get well over the 900Mbps in speed tests.

    Hi,
Thanks for the feedback, can I ask you on your Fritzbox how does the landline phone conenct? just the shape of the port is the the standard rj11(?) or anything weird? Zero issues with bridge mode ? I take you don't use the landline VOIP function ?

I've just got Siro in on Tuesday. Seems decent. I was getting 300-400mb and still do at times but it seems to be very inconsistent.

I've just ran a speed test and got 11mb and then up to 40/50 then down to 20 again which isn't great.

I've sent them an email to see what the story is or what can be done!

Is it wired to a comparable device? A lot of people do speedtests on a phone using 2.4Ghz WiFi and assume the issue is SIRO when it's many other interval factors.

I can't connect to the box at the minute as I've no cable. Currently getting 360mb over any wireless network device.

Come to think of it I'm not using the bridge mode feature, not sure I even logged on to the Fritzbox settings yet :o . But I am using it with my existing TP Link Mesh system successfully. Not using landline feature.

I find fast.com tends to offer better speed test results. However here is a speed test taken just now 910Mb:

It's a massive step up from the previous Virgin 240Mb, and its the same price :o

Here is a list of my last few test results for comparison:

The modem/router that Digiweb supply (Fritzbox 7530) has a standard RJ11 socket so you can use your existing phone(s). However your calls are made using VOIP and you can have your existing phone number ported within 24 hours of installation. It also uses mesh for WiFI and it can act as a base station for cordless phones (see link attached).

    https://en.avm.de/products/fritzbox/fritzbox-7530/technical-data/

Also if know someone who is an existing Digiweb customer ask them to recommend you. You will receive €30 off one of your early bills if you do.

It seems the installer left you short. There should be a network cable supplied with the modem. This should be separate from the one used between the SIRO ONT and the modem.

I would highlight this with your ISP if this is the case.

Thanks for all the help, still kinda clueless on the bridge mode things. Called DigiWeb and they say it would work fine but never seemed to enage with the question I asked so just a rushed 'yes of course it will work'
Searched online and multiple reports of FritzBoxes (not the exact same model) either not having bridge mode / bidge mode being flaky or it requiring set up and terms I really didn't understand.

    Still clueless.

Was thinking that alright as I had the one from the router ad it's not the same as the one from the siro box to the router.
