You should be able to login to your Revenue MyAccount now and file a return for any of the last 4 tax years, 2017 to 2020 now. If you were in receipt of PUP or TWSS/EWSS last year it might slow it down.

Thanks for the reply. It's such a crap system. When I clicked on the link to review my tax from 2017-2020 I get the below message and it logs me out.

    We're sorry...

Not really. Employers have till mid January to ensure that their payroll submissions to Revenue are correct. It maybe that your employer hasn't confirmed these details yet. Also any payments relating to COVID-19 received in 2020 may slow things down. It is only the 4th of January and this is only the second year of this real time reporting system where most of the second year occurred during a global pandemic. You could send a MyEnquiry to Revenue to see what the technical issue is, if it keeps happening or try ringing them to see if it's a known issue.

Maybe try a different browser? It's working fine for me on Chrome.

I'm an accountant and also do payroll.

The earliest you can do it is Jan 15th

Employers finalise their December 2020 payrolls up to and including the 14th of Jan

On the 15th, applications for statement of liability will become available on MYACCOUNT

It cannot be done before then because employers still have the option to amend, fix or adjust December 2020 figures

If you personally were not paid or working in December, it still doesn't matter. Jan 15th is the start date for statement of liability.

    Hope this helps.

I actually could request sol no problem, but your info makes sense. I might need to wait until the 15th to see it.

Mine is very clear and all BIK etc is on revenue file after I was paid so maybe the system allowed me to do it because my last payday was 24th Dec and all details matched their record.

Only have 96 euro added for health expenses.

"We are processing your most recent request. Your Statement of Liability will be available shortly." That's the message I got. Will update when this is processed.
