Bought a car online from a dealer and took delivery of the car week before Christmas.

Car has a lot of faults and 1 major. I have not been able to contact sales guy but their repairs team have the car back currently. This was booked in within days of taking delivery, pre Christmas.

I want to reject the car and get my old trade in back.

    Can I do this?

Being an online order (distance selling), do you have a 14 day cooling off period?

I think it depends on how you collected and paid for the car...

Under distance selling laws they need to advise you of the cooling off period and how to avail of it. If they don’t then it’s period is extended considerably.
The fact that your only avenue was this one salesperson who was on holidays, I’d imagine this didn’t happen.
