    Hi Everyone,

I will be updating my current car, 07 Mondeo, in about 8/10 weeks.
I'm thinking of a 2018 Insignia, new model, for no particular reason, I just like them. A friend has one, a 161 old model, he doesn't have a bad word to say about it etc.

I'm just looking for other opinions, known issues please?

    Thanks for reading,
    N.

I only had one for circa 6 months as a temporary car until new co car arrived but I really liked it. Mine was the 2018 1.6 diesel SRI model, which was a nice spec. Fine, big, comfortable, solid, safe, sure footed car. Diesel was a bit gruff at low revs and on start up but had plenty of poke and was very economical too. Liked the interior and info tainment system

I've had a few, including currently a 181 that's about to be traded in.

Petrol, elite, with all the spec you would want. Never had an issue with any of my Insignias. Annual service and away you go.

Comfortable, sturdy, nippy, and a pleasure to drive.

That said I'm changing to a Grandland as I'm getting too old for an Insignia and no longer need a large saloon.

Just make sure its been serviced "properly" and I do mean properly. The oil in these is needs to be Opel oil or equivalent. Not cheap "tyre place" crap.

They give issues with accelerator pedals failing and the odd turbo but that's usually down to wrong oil being used or lack of servicing.

Theyre a decent car and you get a lot of car for your money.

If you have a reg - pm it to me and I can see if there is any warranty done on it or outstanding recalls.

I thought the safety equipment particularly good. There’s an excellent pedestrian warning system that is very sensitive and alerting- if this was in all cars a lot of lives would be saved I reckon.
One in my 3 series isn’t as sensitive at all.
