Second hand market is your best bet if you are desperate.

    CEX have 1060 6Gb for a scandalous €210.
However that's looking like your only choice until the stock mess caused by COVID & Brexit (and the new year) have been sorted.

I just got gifted a 1080 Ti and am selling a 980 Ti that has been fantastic for me, haven't even advertised it yet but literally taking out of my machine today, no idea if that would be any good to you.

Yes, its unproven now but likely true imho. ''Could we believe that Nvidia would do the dirty on their loyal customers? Sure thing, why not. Nvidia has never been shy of chasing revenue and profits as their stellar results show''

Now bid up to £255! But the bidders aren't entirely insane, with the mess of the availability and prices of current (and even last gen) graphics cards, it's most likely a sellers market even for years old tech.

I remember advising someone who may have been considering building a high end PC to wait a few weeks for the stock situation with current gen hardware to improve. that was in October or maybe early November. Oh the naiveté  Not only has the supply situation not improved in the slightest in the intervening months, but the AIB partners have decided that their attitude to scalpers is going to be "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." with Asus announcing large scale price increases over MSRP. (But seemingly the others had been doing the same for ages, they just hadn't made announcements of it).

The whole thing is beyond a pathetic joke at this point. The only recommendation I could offer to anyone looking to either build a new gaming focused PC or to upgrade a graphics card in an existing PC, is to simply forget about it for the time being. Until at least May, or unless in the interim there is a huge crash in the price of cryptocurrencies, just don't bother even looking for a graphics card unless you absolutely cannot avoid it. Even if you do absolutely need a graphics card, e.g. your current card is about to pack in (or has failed) and you don't have on-board graphics from your CPU, consider just getting a GeForce 1030 or 730 or the cheapest GCN Radeon to keep your computer functioning for the time being. If your current GPU still works, then make the best of it for the next few months. For amusement, look around for games that you haven't played that will run on whatever you have right now. Even if it means older games or cheesy indie games.

Otherwise, just don't even bother looking because it's a waste of time and anything you might get will be a waste of money. There's nothing. There's no point.

I was on the verge of selling my GTX1080 in early October. About to accept a offer but something was telling me to wait. I'm so glad I did.

The situation on GPU's is atrocious right now weekly increases in new gen cards really beggars belief. On Amazon.de a 3060ti over €900 today. The whole fiasco of looking for a GPU since launch had my brain fried. Stopped looking not for me at those prices.
