    Hi all,

My wife is due a baby in July and we'd like to get away for two nights.

Looking for some recommendations for a relaxed hotel with great food and spa/swimming pool no more than two hours from Dublin.

Honestly we'll mostly be in the room watching Netflix tbh.

Budget about €250 per night for the room, that's flexible though.

    Thanks!

That’s your own opinion. OP was asking for hotel recommendations..

God knows what situation we will be in July, restrictions can be well eased by then.

OP I would recommend whites hotel in Wexford for a nice spa break away.

No and if you are essential a letter from employer or similar is needed.

OP is looking to travel now I doubt you would be planning a weekend away when a baby is due..

Stay at home and follow the guidelines.
How would you feel if your wife suffered some complication as a result of catching covid because you couldn't do without a feckin holiday.

Where did the poster say he was going NOW????
Baby due in July, that's 7 months away. Hotels are actually closed now so even if he wanted to go, he couldn't! There's a fair chance hotels will be open by July ... he is perfectly entitled to ask for recommendations!

Talk about a judgemental post

Carton House in Maynooth. Great spa, good food and beautiful grounds in an old estate to go for walks.

Might be a slight stretch on the 2 hour journey depending what part of Dublin you’re in but Glenlo abbey in Galway is beautiful. Little bit outside Galway so no crowds if you choose to avoid people and food onsite is amazing. Other than that, Monart (adults only) , Carton House, or for somewhere understated , Tinakilly country house in Wicklow is lovely.

Johnstown Estate in Enfield has just renovated their spa and it’s gorgeous! There’s also a pool, relaxation room and outdoor jacuzzi.

The food in the bar and restaurant is also top quality. Less than 30 mins from Dublin on the M4 and should definitely fall within your budget.

Thanks, I know that hotel well and it's a good one, handy for us too.

    Great suggestions all, thank you!

Seafield Hotel and Spa Ballymoney Co Wexford

Second Seafield, better spa than Monart and within the budget. Rooms can be a bit warm so ask for a room with working air con.
