So I'm in the market for a new tablet.

As per thread title, I'm currently in the market for a new tablet, the last one has served me well this last 3 years, but a big crack across the screen that occasionally leaves glass splinters in fingertips means that it's time to trade up.

Been looking at a few, I don't care about brands etc, they're not important to me, and I'm not into brand snobbery, specs/value for money is much more important.

Have a Nvidia shield under an Philips Ambilight 4k TV, a Poco F2, etc etc (no brand loyalty whatsoever)

Anyone any suggestions? Tablet used mostly for light browsing, might do a bit of Amazon shopping on it, YouTube/Netflix etc

Had my eye on this, if anyone has any thoughts.

Got a 8 inch fire from Amazon in November and love it tbh. Ridiculously easy to de Amazon and it's my on the couch tablet. 10 inch should be the same.

Use a Samsung Tab for the more intensive stuff

    No I don't think so, it's under €150.

That's what I'm upgrading from. Served me well tbh.

Also on the look out for a new tablet. Have a lenovo tab 2 a10 70 for about 3 years now, happy with it but it's a bit battered. What's the best upgrade on this? Samsung? Lenovo? Any good online deals? Recommendations appreciated

Thanks, looks decent. Delivery Jan 31st, was hoping to get one sooner. Is there anything in Curry's, powercity, did etc that's decent?

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet might be a good option for you: https://www.lenovo.com/ie/en/laptops/lenovo/student-chromebooks/Lenovo-CT-X636/p/ZZICZCTCT1X
It's Chrome OS, not Android, although you can run Android apps on it.

My budget is about €150 to €200 max and I'll probably need it for my 8 year old to do remote learning for school.

I'm wary of those lesser known tablets. Have a lenovo now and it's been great for over 3 years. Before that I got one off Amazon.co.uk for about £100 and it worked fine for a few months then slowed right down and became more or less useless.

So I got this on Thursday, here's a very brief review.

Came with a heap of extras, including a decent enough protective case, a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, stylus and screen protector.

Charging port is the new type so same as phone etc whereas the Amazon one wasn't.

Sadly though, I'm sending it back today. If just doesn't seem right in comparison with the last Amazon tablet, i can't put my finger on it, but it's just not a pleasant experience using it, and I can't explain why to be completely honest.

The final straw came this morning though, I bought the tablet with the intention of letting the kids use it for home schooling, but the app they need to use (Edmodo) won't let them sign in with it.

There's a section on the screen that says "touch here to log in"** but it's completely and utterly unresponsive when you touch it, yet on my phone and fire tablet it works flawlessly first time.

It looks the part and all, but sadly I'm just not happy with it, and the really odd thing is, I don't even know why, so am about to pull the trigger on a 10" fire tablet which I'll quickly de-Amazon once if arrives.

**If anyone has any suggestions on the above please let me know however.

I went with the Galaxy Tab A7, got the last one in my local store for €199. Gave it to my son yesterday as an early birthday present(and due to home schooling!) and he's delighted with it. Fast, responsive, great sound. He did some remote learning on it today and is chuffed. So,it gets my recommendation and his!
